Emerging Latinas Emerging Latinas provides entrepreneurial training for NLBWA members seeking to learn how to start a new business or grow an existing one.
Entrepreneurial Training Program: The Emerging Latinas program consists of a 6-8 week, 2-4 hour class per week format.
The program includes the following topics:
Emerging Latinas is an interactive program with group discussion, expert speakers and problem solving.
Business Management Academy - L.A. Chapter Only The purpose of the Business Management Academy is to provide minority women business owners with step-by-step "how to" training on making the transition to an effective business manager and a successful small business owner.
Management Training:
The academy is a six-week intensive executive type program. As part of the six week course students receive homework assignments called “Tools for Success Package” which include having each student develop their elevator speech, biography, capabilities page and a short business plan.
The program includes the following topics:
The Tools for Success package submitted by the students will be evaluated by a panel and the best package will win a $500 gift card. Also as part of the Academy students are professionally photographed and a copy of their headshot is provided to them. On the last day a short graduation ceremony is held and students receive a certificate of completion followed by an evening of networking.
Latina Financial The Latina Financial is a financial literacy program designed for Latinas. Our goal is to empower and teach the basic tools Latinas need in order to become financially independent.
This program is to be held monthly for a period of three months. Each session includes a discussion and covers financial topics and aspects on how to invest in the stock market.
Registration is open to NLBWA Members and Non-Members. The program requires a three month commitment.
